Is sulphite, an additive in wine safe?

We usually find sulphite added in wine on the market. There are two reasons for adding sulphite in wine. Firstly, sulphite prevents wine from being oxidized. Oxidized wine does not taste good. Secondly, sulphite helps to kill bacteria during the fermentation of wine.
Sulphite is, thus, indispensable to wine. The amount of sulphite in wine approved by the Ministry of Health and Labour is safe. There is one exception to this: asthmatics take enormous amount of sulphite.
You do not have to worry about sulphite in wine.
